October 2013 Empties

Not too many empties in October... hoping to pick it up in November and December!

* = Disliked the product - would not repurchase
** = Liked the product - might or might not repurchase
*** = Loved the product - would repurchase

1. Pantene Pro-V Repair & Protect Shampoo
Source: Can't remember... probably one of those sample packs
Thoughts: This shampoo is ok but nothing special.
Rating: **

2. Fresh Soy Shampoo
Source: Hotel sample?
Thoughts: I like this shampoo. It's a bit of an odd texture, because it's really runny when you pour it out into your hand, but it's not thin or anything when you put it in your hair. I like the scent a lot and my hubby LOVES the scent.

3. Le Petit Marseillais Shampooing Pommes & Feuilles d'Olivier
Source: Purchased by me in France
Thoughts: I like this shampoo, but mostly for the scent. It worked ok as a shampoo but nothing too exciting.
Rating: **

4. The Body Shop Satsuma Shower Gel
Source: Gift from one of my sisters :)
Thoughts: The texture of this shower gel was really nice. I liked that it lathered well and did not dry out my skin. The scent did not smell as mouthwatering as I typically find The Body Shop scents to be so maybe I had this too long before using it.
Rating: **

5. The Body Shop Coconut Shower Cream
Source: Gift from one of my sisters :)
Thoughts: Exact same comments as #4.
Rating: **

6. Lush Snow Fairy
Source: Gift from one of my sisters :)
Thoughts: I used this as bubble bath and really liked it. I didn't think I would like the scent as much as I did because I normally like such sweet candy scents, but I think there was a fruitiness that freshened it up a little. The bubbles didn't last too long, but I find most of the bubble baths I try are like that (perhaps it's my water?).

7. Mia's Wish Soap in Cherry Berry Bomb
Source: Purchased by me in Chicago
Thoughts: I love this soap!! It smells amazing and it completely infused my bathroom with the scent. The bar soap lasts a long time, lathers well, and does not dry out my skin.
Rating: ***

8. Pharmacopia Verbena Soap
Source: Hotel sample from Halifax
Thoughts: I didn't finish this soap because I was only in Halifax for 3 nights, but I really enjoyed trying it so I brought the box home to show in my empties. The scent of this is lovely... I love verveine.

9. Pharmacopia Verbena Soap
Source: Hotel sample from Halifax
Thoughts: Same comments as #8
Rating: **

10. Aruba Aloe Desert Bloom Face Lotion
Source: Purchased by me in Aruba
Thoughts: This lotion did not work for my face (too heavy) so I used it as body cream. The lotion is pretty thick and does not absorb quickly, but it is non-greasy. I really like the scent!
Rating: **

11. Nivea Mattifying Day Care
Source: Hubs picked up a bag of samples from the Nivea sample truck :)
Thoughts: I don't remember much about this cream... I think it was ok.
Rating: **

12. Kaia Naturals Juicy Bamboo Cleansing Cloths
Source: Glossy Party T.O.
Thoughts: These are my favourite facial cleansing cloths!
Rating: ***

13. Make Up Remover Wipes (distributed by Custom Amenities Inc.)
Source: Hotel sample from Halifax
Thoughts: Nothing special about this - I used it as a body wipe because I didn't want to use it on my face!
Rating: **

14. Face Q Grape Seed and Green Tea Sheet Mask
Source: Purchased by me
Thoughts: Love these sheet masks! They are still very well saturated with product and stay on your face nicely. I had a little bit of slippage at the chin area but I just pressed it back into place. I like that there is a little sheet of plastic layered in with the mask to make it easier to unfold.
Rating: ***

15. My Beauty Diary Mexico Cactus Sheet Mask
Source: Purchased by me
Thoughts: I love these sheet masks! They come with a plastic backing so they are really easy to unfold. The scent of the Mexico Cactus Mask is very light and fresh.
Rating: ***

16. Marcelle Eye Make-Up Remover Pads
Source: Glossy Party T.O.
Thoughts: I was worried these would sting my eyes, but I was pleasantly surprised because they were very gentle! They were effective in removing my makeup but I had to use more than one pad when I wore a heavier eye look. I love that these are so convenient to use. I came *this close* to repurchasing today but I have so many eye makeup removers to use up that I held back.

17. Starlooks Lengthening Mascara in Black
Source: March 2013 Starlooks Starbox
Thoughts: This is a very natural looking mascara - it does not do much for my lashes at all. I like that it's not clumpy and it's easy to apply, but I need more help for my sad lashes.
Rating: **

18. Starbucks Calm Herbal Infusion
Source: Not sure...
Thoughts: I didn't like this very much because it wasn't very flavourful... maybe I had it too long?
Rating: *

19. Starbucks Refresh Herbal Infusion
Source: Not sure...
Thoughts: Same comments as #18

20. Harrods Mango Tea x 3
Source: My friend bought me this from London (thanks, Christina!)
Thoughts: This tea was yummy but I preferred the Passion Fruit version.
Rating: **

21. Harrods Passion Fruit Tea x 2
Source: My friend bought me this from London (thanks, Christina!)
Thoughts: I love this tea! So flavourful and delicious with a touch of honey.
Rating: ***

22. David's Tea Pink Passionfruit
Source: One of my sisters bought me this :)
Thoughts: I thought this tea was alright - it was really really sweet once I added honey so I probably did not have to add any. I don't like that this tea includes artificial flavours. I enjoyed trying this but I would not repurchase.
Rating: **

23. David's Tea Tropicalia
Source: One of my sisters bought me this :)
Thoughts: I didn't read the ingredients before trying this so I didn't realize there were sugar hearts in this tea! I added honey as I normally do and I was bouncing off the walls. I enjoyed trying this but I would not repurchase.
